Major news outlets reported this week that many states will end the additional $1200 a month aid to unemployed workers. This temporary aid was being handed out on top of regular state unemployment benefits which usually work out to about $3500 to $5200 per month depending on state.
In most cases, the liberal unemployment benefits were leading to worker shortage as workers could stay home and make a lot more than if they worked.
Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia and Wyoming announced they will stop giving unemployed workers an extra $300 per week in benefits sometime over the summer.
