WASHINGTON – The GOP-controlled Senate on 12th February 2025 voted to confirm Tulsi Gabbard to be President Donald Trump’s director of national intelligence. The 52-48 vote was along party lines, with Sen. Mitch McConnel, R-Ky., joining all Democrats in voting against her.
All Democrat Senators, the Democratic Party leadership, and the media outlets under their influence had been trying ever so hard to derail her nomination. Gabbard, 43, an Iraq war veteran, has served two decades in the Army Reserve. She had been a longtime Hawaii Democrat, serving in the state House and on the Honolulu City Council. She represented Hawaii in the House of Representatives from 2013 to 2021. She is an exceptional public speaker and a skilled administrator. However, she has faced ongoing harassment due to her unwavering stance against unnecessary wars. It seems she firmly believes that the Democratic Party is controlled by warmongering politicians and bureaucrats, and as a result, she has been relentlessly persecuted by Democrats through the media. In October 2024, Gabbard decided to quit the Democratic Party and joined the Republican Party endorsing Donald Trump in run-up to the 2024 election.
Now that Gabbard has been confirmed to her post as President Trump’s director of national intelligence, we can take a moment to analyze why there was so much noise in the media and in the senate to derail her nomination hearings. The level of animosity shown by the Democratic Party toward Gabbard makes her Democrat enemy number five, with Donald Trump (#1), Elon Musk (#2), Hegseth (#3), RFK Jr(#4), and Gabbard (#5).
All of these individuals have publicly declared their intention to reform the federal government. Anyone with common sense can see that those who stand to gain the most from the status quo of wars, healthcare, and education fraud are often the loudest in opposing leadership that seeks to bring about change.
In recent decades, there have been continuous wars across Europe and the Middle East—regions where U.S. hegemony remains unchallenged. Despite this, billions of taxpayer dollars have been spent on these wars, hundreds of thousands of lives have been lost, and millions of civilians have been displaced. The reader should pause to reflect on the mindset of those behind the scenes responsible for such theft and atrocities. Will they be exposed and held accountable, or will they manage to stall change, or will the new administration simply become complicit?
Only time will reveal how effective President Donald Trump’s cabinet will be in bringing about real change.
